Connect Instagram to Claude or ChatGPT in three steps
- 01Switch to a Professional account if needed (Instagram settings → Account type; free). This is an Instagram API requirement, not a FavStash choice.
- 02Add the channel in FavStash: Portal → Schedule → Add channel → Instagram, then complete Instagram's sign-in.
- 03Connect your AI: Claude (connector directory), ChatGPT (custom MCP app), or Codex, Cursor and others through the CLI. Test with "Show my connected Instagram account. Do not publish anything."

Turn a saved Reel into an original idea
Instagram's saved section is a black hole: collections can't search what was said in a video. Share the Reel to FavStash instead, with a note on what caught your eye. Your AI can find it later by what you remember, use the transcript and hook to draft your own version, and schedule it. Then compare how yours did before you pick the next reference.
Know what the Instagram integration won't do
- No DMs, no comment replies. Some Instagram MCP servers handle messages; FavStash doesn't manage comments or DMs.
- No personal accounts. Instagram requires Professional accounts for API publishing.
- Not a downloader. FavStash doesn't provide source video downloads or offline playback of saved posts.
- The AI confirms before publishing unless you pre-approve; drafts appear on your calendar.
- Edits after publishing happen on Instagram, not in FavStash.
- Scheduled times are queued in UTC.
