AI video editing skills for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts
One prompt turns Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor into your short-form scriptwriter, video editor, and motion designer, with FavStash for planning, publishing, and analytics.
The free FavStash short-form skills teach a local AI agent to script, edit, caption, and animate Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts. Start from a saved reference, a topic, or your own footage. The agent writes the hooks, shapes the cut, adds readable captions and motion graphics, and gives you a reviewed export.
Set it up with one prompt#
Paste this into Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or another local coding agent:
Set up FavStash for my short-form content workflow.
Clone https://github.com/alisadiq-ai/favstash-ai-video-editing-skills and follow:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alisadiq-ai/favstash-ai-video-editing-skills/main/INSTALL_FOR_AGENTS.md
Install the four skills (scripting, editing, motion graphics, captions) and the
local media tools they need in my workspace. Check whether FavStash is already
connected and usable. If it isn't, connect it with the FavStash CLI when you're
Codex or Claude Code, or guide me through the right sign-in for my agent.
Verify the setup, then tell me how to start my first reel.
The agent installs the skills, checks or installs Node.js 22+, FFmpeg, yt-dlp, and the rendering runtime, then connects FavStash. You only handle the sign-in. A hosted chat without file and command access can explain the setup, but editing needs a local agent.
What the agent can do#
| Skill | Use it for |
|---|---|
shortform-scripting | Adapt a proven hook into three openings and one shared body in your voice, plus a filmable brief |
favstash-shortform | End-to-end edits: talking head, B-roll, split screen, and screen demos, with captions, sound, safe areas, and a reviewed export |
motion-graphics-short | Animated explanations, data reveals, diagrams, and kinetic type |
shortform-captions | Transcription, timing, line breaks, translations, and caption styling |
A ready-made adaptive glass style and a sound-effects pack give a finished look out of the box. Your own fonts and colors take over when you have them.
Better with FavStash#
The skills work on their own. With FavStash connected, the same agent can find hooks in your saved inspiration, plan the post, schedule it to your connected accounts after you approve it, and check what performed before the next edit.
Find the product-launch hooks in my FavStash. Use $shortform-scripting to
adapt the strongest one into three openings for my footage, then use
$favstash-shortform to edit the version I approve. Prepare a caption and
calendar draft for review before scheduling.
